Technical Overview

AB Rubber Engineering manufactures Sponge Rubber Profiles using high-quality EPDM, Neoprene, NBR, Silicone and other application-specific materials. The profiles are available in different densities, hardness levels, cross-sectional shapes and dimensions to suit specific sealing and cushioning requirements. Closed-cell sponge rubber is particularly suitable for applications requiring resistance to water, moisture, dust and air penetration, while open-cell sponge rubber can be selected for applications requiring greater compressibility, cushioning and air permeability. Sponge Rubber Profiles can be supplied as round cords, square profiles, rectangular strips, D-profiles, P-profiles, bulb seals, U-channels, edge seals, glazing seals, door seals and specially engineered cross-sections. EPDM sponge is widely preferred for outdoor applications because of its excellent weathering, ozone, UV and water resistance. NBR sponge is suitable for applications involving oils and petroleum-based fluids, while silicone sponge is recommended for applications requiring wider temperature resistance and long-term flexibility. Profiles can also be supplied with self-adhesive backing, fabric reinforcement, surface coating, flocking or co-extruded sections, depending on the application.
